School Supply Drive
In September of 2023 and 2024, we partnered with Starbucks and Midwest Veterans closet to collect and hand out school supplies for the military community in Fort Sheridan and the Great Lakes Naval Base. Over two years, we have collected over 3,000 school supply items to distribute at Midwest Veterans Closet during a food handout they have monthly.
Treats for Troops
Gathered members of my community to put 750 goodie bags together consisting of a hand written card, two candy canes, and two pairs of socks donated from Bombas. The bags were shipped overseas to the 307th Medical group in celebration of the 2023 holidays.
Holiday Treats for Our Heroes
In celebration of the 2024 holidays, Help for All Heroes partnered with Midwest Veterans Closet to distribute treat bags to veterans. To gather cards for the bags, we set up a table at Lake Forest High School where students could use their study hall or lunch periods to support veterans by writing messages of gratitude. Additionally, students donated homemade cookies to include in the treat bags. We ultimately collected 600 cards and 1,500 cookies, enabling us to assemble and distribute around 600 treat bags.
Valentines for Veterans
This winter, Help for All Heroes gathered 400 valentine cards and 1,000 cookies from Lake Forest High School students. With the goal of spreading love, appreciation, and happiness to the military community, we assembled the cards and cookies into valentines and handed them out to military personnel on Valentine’s Day.
Heroes Haven Farm Family Pumpkin Fest
In celebration of the upcoming fall season, Midwest Veterans closet hosts an annual Pumpkin fest for military families. Help for All Heroes was asked to supply deserts, goodie bags, and hand written cards for the 2023 event. We connected high schoolers at Lake Forest High School with the opportunity to bake deserts and collected over 500 homemade treats for the event. The Lake Forest Field Hockey program wrote 150 cards and made 150 treat bags for the kids to enjoy.
Strut Your Mutt
Helped organize, set up, and lead a charity walk, hosted by Canines for Comfort in 2023, to support emotional support animals and their owners.
